I think there is a good chance this will happen. We already know that people at NASA and in private companies (i.e., SpaceX) are planning a mission. They are building upon the experience of sending robotic missions to Mars, using the information gained to influence how we could send and support humans on Mars. In fact, SpaceX have recently said that they want to have someone on Mars within 25 years! It is a tough job to do this though with many technological developments needed to make it successful. It is also not even clear if it will be possible to get the people back to Earth again. Therefore, it might be a one-way mission!

      Yes definitely!
There are a couple of private companies that are planning manned missions to Mars at this very moment! The earliest one planned is Mars One, they are supposed to launch the manned mission in 2024 (so pretty soon!!!) :

Ooh, I don’t know. Going to Mars will be really tough. I’m 29 so maybe I have another 40 years or so? It’s definitely possible that a man will land on Mars before then, but it’s going to be difficult!

People are working on it though, so we’re taking the first steps!
