Hi evamayq! I would recommend a few things:

      1. Do it, as you will not regret being a scientist!
      2. Work hard at school/university, but make sure you are working hard at the subjects you enjoy as it will be much easier to study.
      3. Read a lot of science books/magazines/blogs etc to build up your general knowledge of scientific concepts.
      4. Talk to your teachers and other people you know in science to get a feeling in which area you would like to work.

      Good luck!

Follow your passion, and believe in yourself (yes, you can do it). Everything else will follow.

Like Laurence said, believe in yourself! When you go into science you see that everyone around you is really clever and it can be very easily to think that you aren’t clever enough. But, that is all an illusion! Everybody else is thinking the same thing! So, just believe in yourself and do it because you enjoy it!

Keep going! It’s hard, but the hard work pays off!
And enjoy it 🙂 it is a magical world out there, and every step is a victory, no matter how small!
