• Question: when stingrays sting people, does it effect them? eg. Honey bees die once they have used their sting...

      Not much, I think! Some stingrays leave barbs in people, kind of like bee stings, but apparently once they lose one they immediately start growing another!

      I don’t think it affects them much either. Often a barb will break in the skin of the ‘victime’, but from hat I understand it has many layers of barbs and if one is lost it gets quickly replace, a bit like a shark regrows new teeth to replace lost ones (after all, stingrays and sharks are related!).

      The stinger barb can sometimes break off in the wound, but this doesn’t really affect the stingray. It does hurt the person who was stung, though!
